Computer Forensics 103 - Introduction to an Email Investigation
In this session you will learn the basics of an email investigation including Outlook, Lotus Notes, GroupWise and third party email (AOL, Yahoo, Gmail, etc.) We will examine several scenarios and illustrate the kind of information that can be extracted from common email. Examples will include SPAM and web based emails. You will find out just how much information can be gleaned from examining email including internet based email such as AOL, MSN, Yahoo, Gmail, as these 3rd party email providers often give people a false sense of anonymity.

"Predictive/Suggestive" Coding and Machine-Assisted Review
Even with advances in e-Discovery tool-sets, today's discovery efforts are still highly dependent on human interaction and the errors that go with it. However, a new technology has arrived that may change this paradigm forever and allow legal teams to use legal expertise, case facts and subject matter knowledge to "automate" large parts of review. In this course, we show how to leverage assisted review technology and work-flows to slash cost and meet tight deadlines. We will examine current standards of and myths surrounding document review (including attendant errors and costs), as well as how an iterative process can remedy many problems associated with common keyword searching techniques. We will also explore arguments against the use of this technology and how these arguments might potentially be overcome in a meet-and-confer or court hearing setting.

"Predictive/Suggestive" Coding and Machine-Assisted Review
